Welcome to the Nikki Chapin Frizzell web site

News in January 2007:

Happy New Year, friends! I'm pleased to provide some updates of projects. I've been interested in doing some work to support the troops, and have been able to be a part of some very worthwhile compilation projects. The Georgia Freedom Alliance Project CD Compilation raises money for The Freedom Alliance Fund, a 501(c) 3, which provides educational scholarships to the children of fallen soldiers. The CDs are completed and contain some great songs from artists around the country, including "I Believe." Anyone logging on to donate to the fund will receive a free CD as a "thank-you." Please take a look, and donate at: www.georgiafreedom.com.

Also, Three Point Records has released American Heroes, "Songs for the Soldiers" a compilation CD of original independent music, which includes one of my original Christmas songs. The CD is part of a series of projects called "Music for Troops," and was delivered to Iraq before Christmas in an initial press of 1000 copies. The sponsor for this project is Keystone Soldiers, a charitable organization in the Pennsylvania area, founded by Kyle Lords. She's done great things for our heroes abroad, sending care packages and letters to many troops, all year long. Please consider a donation at www.keystonesoldiers.org. Music for Troops has two songs from this American Heroes CD available for free download to members of the armed forces. To learn more about the projects or donate, visit www.musicfortroops.com. The CD is also available at CDbaby and for download at itunes.

Some other opportunities of late include being part of the newest Apache Rose music compilation, called "Watchin' out for Folk," being released in March 2007. Being included in this compilation is an honor, and there are some really amazing folk musicians participating. For more go to www.apacherose.net.

Finally, in November I was pleased to learn that www.spiritco1.com is playing tunes from my CD "Shine." Spiritco1.com is a Christian internet radio service that has been online for 3 years, and broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Spiritco1 audience includes 40 plus countries and all of the US and Canada. 80% of the artists played on Spiritco1 are independent artists. Spiritco1 is located in Oxon Hill, Maryland, just outside of Washington D.C. Spiritco1 is listed in the three major radio tuner guides; Windows Media, Real Player and iTunes, as well as several other radio tuner guides, and is a BMI reporting station. Thank you Spiritco1, for your support and far reaching mission! May God continue to bless you all with good health and grateful hearts! Thanks for stopping by, nikki

News in November:

Hello friends!  Just a short time ago I was honored and privileged to open for two musicians that I have long admired: David Wilcox and Allen Levi.  It was interesting how it all happened:  A business associate of my sister Lisa, is also an admirer of these musical greats, and has hosted the Harvest Jam in Georgia for a number of years now.  Ralph Taylor kindly indulged my sister when she insisted that he take a listen to my music.  He liked it enough to investigate, and discovered that he and I have much in common.  Ralph was gracious (and faithful) enough to follow the leading of his heart and invite me to play at this years jam.  How could he have known that David Wilcox has been my musical hero for over twenty years?  His songs have inspired me in so many ways, and I still feel strongly that the nudge of songwriting inspiration rose to the surface in me because of his music.  I have discovered the brilliant and compassionate music of Allen Levi more recently, but am no less moved by his wit, his love for others, and his incredible talent playing a most extraordinary guitar.

The Harvest Jam was amazing.  Not only did I get to spend time with my sister and her family (and my mom flew up from Florida), but also I was treated like a princess by Ralph and his faithful band of friends.  And I got to know David and Allen a little better.  Even more amazing than playing for a full house on a 9 foot grand piano, was the simple few minutes before the concert when David, Allen and I stood backstage with our heads together and our arms clasped, and prayed for the words we would say and sing, and that the beautiful spirit of God would wrap around our music like a blanket to keep everyone warm for a while.  That is exactly what happened.  David and Allen clearly love each other, and their regard for each other’s music was readily apparent.  They played an amazing concert together, with the audience laughing one moment, and needing to find a Kleenex the next.  David’s wife Nance joined in on a few of his tunes, and after getting to know her, I can see why there is such joy in David’s music! The entire experience was lovely and genuine, and one that I’ll treasure forever.  If you’d like to read a little more, please go to my NEWS page for an article written by Georgia girl L. Jaye, whom I was able to talk with after the concert.

Just a week before the Harvest Jam, I was honored to play for a lovely group of women (of all ages) at the “Ladies Night Out” here in Bigfork,.  150 women gathered at Crossroads Christian Fellowship for dinner, fun and stories, and a little entertainment.  It was a very special night, and moving in many ways.  Thank you ladies, for your gracious comments and open arms.  I’m looking forward to another night out with you!

Thank you again for visiting, and please enjoy looking around the website.  I appreciate your emails and comments.  Blessings in Christ, nikki

News in October:

Hello friends! My family has recently moved to the beautiful mountains of Montana! For years Jim and I have wanted to make this move, and at last we've taken the leap of faith. Now that we're here, we're wondering why we waited so long. It is lovely, and these mountains have always called to my heart. I've said before that it's hard to not praise God constantly when His glory is so in-your-face! We are settled in, and I'm pleased to find many other songwriters and lots of outstanding musicians. There are wonderful people and opportunities in this place. Again, God is reminding me that He's in charge, and that I'm right where He wants me to be.

I'm also thrilled to have a feature spot in a magazine here in Montana, "Flathead Living." In the Flathead Valley it is a well respected and widely read magazine. Michael Laurino, the owner/editor was so kind when I took that chance and set him a CD. You know, most of the time when one sends off a CD it's a long shot, right? Again, God is reminding me that He is the one in charge, and all things are possible. I'm grateful for the accolades, and even though that's never been what it's about, I'm still astounded at the sweet response to my first CD. I have been rewarded in so many ways, and I'm continually thankful. Visit www.flatheadliving.com for the article in the November 2006 issue.
